AAPEX lists over 200 Playwrights!

Elizabeth Andrews Zitelli and Lenard Starks become AAPEX's 199th and 200th listed playwrights! Who would have thought that when this blog was created three years ago 200 playwrights of African American heritage or playwrights with plays centering on African Americans today and yesterday were laboring away on their stories and getting produced? Zitelli and Starks, who co-wrote Sing and Never Tire, are very symbolic of the AAPEX roster since one is white, the other black; one is female, the other male. Of those 200 playwrights, over 160 (we added another today) have Internet links-- something we make an effort to provide to make it easier for our playwrights to be found, read, their plays bought and, hopefully, produced. If you are an African American playwright or a playwright with at least one play focusing on African Americans and are not listed, please contact us here. We will be happy to include you on our roster at no charge.
