Week 1: Woody King, Jr's New Federal Theatre Reaching Out (NYC)

Some of this first weekend features: Ruby Dee, Lou Myers, Roscoe Orman, Dewanda Wise, Bianca Laverne Jones, Stephanie Berry, Roland Sanchez, Kimberly Dalton Mitchell, Petronia Paley, Jerome Preston Bates and direction by Trezana Beverly, original cast member of the Broadway production of Ntozake Shange’s phenomenal choreopoem, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/ When the Rainbow is Enuf. Also running the first weekend is James deJongh’s Do Lord Remember Me, a musical extravaganza chronicling 400 years of trials and tribulations endured by African-American slaves.
