Call for plays (7/31 Deadline)

EAT’s New Works Series Fall 2013: Submit Yourself!

Deadline: July 31st!

Do you have an idea for a one-person show that you’ve been sitting on? A two-person tour de force that promises to be fantastic? Perhaps a musical – a tuneful, bouncy one-act or a soulful, jazzy full-length? How about an experimental performance piece that tells a story with movement, light, sound?

Emerging Artists Theatre (EAT) is thrilled to announce our 10th Annual New Work Series (NWS) Call for Submissions of Original New Works Festival Dates: October 4th – 27th at the TADA! Theatre, NYC

With the NWS, EAT makes it simple and safe for artists to take risks and explore, supplying all the basic production elements needed to support a new work in development – a stage, a small crew, box office and lobby staff, minimal sets and lights. Plus it’s free to submit, and there’s no cost to participate if accepted, so apply today!

We’re seeking some very specific kinds of works. Take a look, see if you’re a match: Currently Seeking:
 · Original solo shows written and performed by men
 · Original solo shows written and performed by women
 · Original short and full-length musicals
 · Original two-person shows
 · Non-traditional theatrical forms – movement pieces, puppetry, something unexpected.

No more excuses. Now is your chance to share your work in progress on stage in front of an audience. For full details and to apply, click here: http://www.emergingartiststheatre.org/submissions.php

Artistic Director

A note from DC Copeland: "I highly recommend submitting. I did and my award-winning dancical "Jitterbug!" was given a reading last March at the Tada! Theater. Directed by Petronia Paley, it was one of the best professional experiences in my life. Paul Adams is a great guy and made sure the Fest ran smoothly, a difficult if not nearly impossible task in itself. Of course, given this opportunity, it's important that you do all you can to make it work. Thankfully I had Petronia Paley in my corner. She's truly amazing and I couldn't have done it without her."
