The latest issue of the Dramatist Guild's magazine "The Dramatist" is just out. It features playwrights Nikkole Salter & Danai Gurira interviewing each other. Ten years ago they co-wrote and performed their acclaimed play In the Continuum. This February the venerable Crossroads Theatre Company filmed and aired Nikkole's play Repairing A Nation for Thirteen's "Theatre Close-up." Also in February, The Public Theater's production of Danai's play Eclipsed transferred to Broadway.

  2. Hello, I am the theatre and drama editor at Alexander Street (www.alexanderstreet.com), and we are updating our Black Drama database, a resource that contains the full text of more than 1,400 plays written by more than 200 playwrights. I am working on an update to this database, identifying new playwrights who would like to be represented, and I would love to talk to the blog owner about potentially posting a “call for submissions” here? Thanks!
