Submission Guidelines:

• There is no restriction as to subject matter. Victory Gardens hopes that a diversity of perspective will inform the plays, but the plays do not have to deal specifically with race, ethnicity or identity issues.
  
• The initiative is open to all playwrights of color under 40 years old.
• Playwrights must not yet have received a full production at a major regional theater.
  
• Submitted plays must unproduced and must be in English or primarily in English.
  
• Playwrights may only submit one full-length play.
  
• Plays must be submitted by mail, not electronically, and should not be permanently bound.
  
• Please include a biography or resume.
  
• Please include a return addressed postcard if you wish to be notified that the script arrived.
  
• All scripts will be recycled after reading and will not be returned.
  
• There is no submission fee.

I'm a versitile and experienced lyricist and composer, looking to find an experienced playwright to collaborate with. Interested in either/or musical comedy and musical drama--works for adults or children. You can listen to examples of my songs at www.myspace.com/andrewschoneberg I live on the central coast of California. You don't have to be located nearby; long distance collaboration might work. Ideally you have written the book (libretto) for musicals. At least you've written plays and are somewhat knowledgable about musical theater. Interested? Please e-mail something brief about your relevant experience, also any ideas you have for original musicals, or ideas for adaptations of existing works. American Renaissance Theater Company (ARTC) seeks new playwright members. ARTC is a 35 year-old membership organization of theatre professionals. Each week, in a midtown Manhattan location, our workshop provides uniquely specific and supportive feedback to our members - actors, writers, directors - as they present their works in progress. There are also several public presentations each year. There are no dues or fees except for a suggested donation at meetings.
